Leeds 15 August

A very long day today. We arrived at the Trafalgar Reception Centre at 6:00am ready to begin our Grandeur Tour. We left at 6:45am to collect the remainder of our travelling companions from the Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch.

We headed off from there at 7:30 headed for Stratford-on-Avon. We drove past Ann Hathaway’s cottage on our way to Shakespeare’s birthplace & some of the old buildings he used.

This was an hour & a half stop so we grabbed a sandwich & drink. We continued on to York – a very lovely place steeped in history. We saw the York Minster, many old buildings, Clifford Tower & walked on the old Norman Wall before walking to The Windmill where we had a delicious dinner of roast beef & Yorkshire pudding followed by treacle sponge.

We boarded the coach once again for our trip to the Novotel Hotel in Leeds where we were to spend the night.
