Edinburgh 16 August

We headed off today for Edinburgh. We stopped off for a short break before heading on to Alnwick (pronounced An-wick). On the way we detoured to see the Angel of the North – an extremely large steel structure a little way down the road.

We had a couple of hours to fill in for our lunch break. We visited the Northumberland Estate which housed beautiful gardens and Alnwick Castle which was used in some parts of the Harry Potter movies.

We continued on to Peebles where our hotel was situated passing through the beautiful Tweed Valley.

The driver overshot the entry & we finished up several miles down the road before we could turn around. We turned back to the hotel & settled in for the next couple of nights. Some of the others were heading off to a dinner & show but we stayed back & went for a bit of a walk around.

We didn’t need much for dinner as we had a huge fish & chip meal at lunchtime.
