Glasgow 20 August

We left the hotel at 8:30 and retraced some of yesterday’s journey as far as Fort William through the Highlands. There was not much mist around today but it was very dull. Even so I was able to capture more of the beautiful countryside.

We stopped at Fort William for half an hour before continuing on through Dunwinney to ‘view’ Ben Nevis which was shrouded in low cloud. We did however see the memorial to the commandos from WWII commissioned by Winston Churchill.

We continued on through the Glencoe Valley where the Campbells annihilated the Macdonald Clan in a bloody battle, to Loch Lomond where some went on a boat cruise.
A very windy Glencoe Valley
We continued on to Tarbet to meet them at the other end. Our next stop was in Glasgow in the old town where we saw some of the old buildings dating back to 1471.

We then went to the Crowne Plaza for a freshen-up before going into the centre of town for a Regional dinner. We had a quick walk to George Square before heading back to the hotel for the night.
