Aviemore 18 August
We were up early again today for breakfast at 7:30 before
heading off on our trip to the Highlands. After a beautiful day weatherwise
yesterday, today was wet & miserable for the entire way. We stopped off at
St Andrews at the Home of Golf & had an hour to check out the area for an
hour. We went for a bit of a walk and then went & got a coffee overlooking
the golf course.

We boarded the coach and continued on to Pitlochry for our
lunch break. Some chose an option castle tour but we didn’t go. We walked down
to the Pitlochry Dam & Hydro Electric where there are some salmon ponds. We
were able to view salmon & trout swimming upstream through the viewing
room. Some took quite a while to get through to the next pond. The fish were
huge.

We walked back up into the town area & had a cup of tea before
heading back to the coach at 3:00pm. We headed off to collect the others from
the castle and head on to Aviemore where we will be staying for 2 nights. A few
decided to go to watch a sheep dog demonstration but we decided to stay in out
of the rain. We had dinner at the restaurant as a group tonight and then headed
off for an early night after the big day yesterday.
