Singapore 8 July

We headed out again for the day after breakfast. Today we visited Sentosa Island via rail & cable car. Unfortunately the view was very hazy but managed to get some photos. Once on the Island we decided to visit the Butterfly House & the Merlion.

The Butterfly House was a bit of a disappointment as we only saw 3 types of butterfly. There was other wildlife & insects on display as well. As with many of the exhibits we have visited, maintenance was lacking.

We hopped on the Island bus that took us round to the Merlion. The Merlion was undergoing some renovations (having a shower) so the Head Gallery was closed. We did, however get to go to the Mouth Gallery.

We then travelled up to Faber Peak on the cable car before heading back to Harbour Front to get the train back to the hotel.

After lunch we headed out again. We were going to catch the bus to the Singapore Flyer but finished up walking all the way. It was extremely hot. David declined the opportunity of going on the Flyer so I spent half an hour viewing the sights from above.

We caught the bus back to the hotel.

Tonight we were going to go down to Clarke Quay for a night time boat cruise. We stopped off to have dinner on the way & when we came outside were greeted with another tropical downpour. We decided not to venture on to the boats but instead went back to the hotel.
