Edinburgh 17 August

We got up this morning to a very thick fog.

A very foggy Scottish morning

We left the hotel at 9:30 and started the 1 hour trip into Edinburgh from our hotel in Peebles. We met up with our guide who took us on a very slow trip around Edinburgh. Not only was the Tattoo in town but also the Fringe Festival was on so the streets were packed. After our guided tour, we were dropped off near the castle & walked up the hill for our tour of Edinburgh Castle.

From here we were on our own to explore more. The bus was going back to the hotel at 2:30 before returning again at 6:30 for the optional dinner.

David decided we would stay in the town rather than travel back & forth and meet up with the others at 8:00 when we were heading off to the Tattoo. The coach dropped us off fairly close to the castle and we made our way into the Tattoo along with 8000 other people. It was absolutely fabulous.

We returned to the coach after and arrived back at our hotel at 12:10am.
