The day started in a bit of chaos. We were scheduled to have
breakfast at 7:00 and then be on the coach at 7:30. It may have been okay if
there hadn’t been another couple of groups turn up at the same time. Needless
to say, we were not able to get our full breakfast because of the queues. We left
on time for our full day of exploring. The day started off cloudy but as we
travelled higher up, mist & fog set in. The scenery was beautiful when we
could see it.
We drove 2 ½ hours to Malaig where we went on a ferry across to
the Isle of Skye.

We followed the coast back up to the Skye Bridge and drove
back over to the mainland. Our lunch stop was at Eilean Donan Castle. We had a
guided tour before boarding the coach at 2:15.

Our drive continued to Loch Ness
where we had another short break before heading up to Inverness. The traffic
was dreadful as it was now 5:00pm & it took us 30 minutes to get to the
other side of town. We then made a fleeting visit to the Culloden Battlefield.

The wind & rain were picking so we piled back on to the bus to make our way
back to the hotel. We arrived there at 7:00pm which gave us half an hour to
freshen up before dinner in the restaurant. A very long day.
