Bamberg 3 August

Still sailing this morning and not due in Bamberg until lunchtime.

To fill in the time there was a shop presentation & a towel folding demonstration. Towel folding is like big Origami & was lots of fun & laughs.

David finally went & had a back massage which seemed to help his back. Before reaching Bamberg we passed through a very deep lock.

We arrived in Bamberg ahead of time so straight after lunch we boarded the buses to take us into the town where we had a walking tour & some free time.

We heard a bit about the history of Bamberg including the reason why the old Town Hall was situated on an Island in the river.

We then walked up to the Cathedral, Bishop’s residence & the rose garden. We had a good view of the Monastery situated high on the hill. I tried a Lavender gelati & iced tea gelati. Both were refreshing on a very hot day.

We arrived back on board at 5:45 ready for departure to the city of Nuremberg. We went to the Port talk & then went to the Restaurant for dinner.
