Trier 25 July

We left the hotel at 8:00 and stopped for our first break at 9:30. We continued on to Strasbourg arriving there about11:30. We did some sightseeing as we walked to Cathedral Square where we were nearly blown off our feet by the wind & then were let loose to do our own thing.

As it was so windy we went into a restaurant for some of the local fare. We tried their pizza made with cream instead of tomato paste. It was delicious. We also shared a Hamburger USA with chips. Needless to say no dinner necessary tonight.

We regrouped at the Cathedral at1:15 for our windy walk back to the bus. Then it was on to Trier to the hotel to freshen up before going on a foot tour of the town. We visited the Konstantin Basilica, a Ducal Palace and an ancient Roman gate. It was drizzling with rain, cold & windy so headed back to the hotel to get into the warmth.
