Changi Airport 9 July

Today was a quiet day as we were leaving Singapore for Paris. We went down for breakfast & were joined by a couple from Melbourne so we sat & chatted over a leisurely breakfast. David went to return the MRT visitor passes & get the deposit back while I went up to the room to start packing. We had to vacate the room by 12:00 noon so at 11:30am we went & checked out. We were to be picked up by the shuttle bus at 1:30pm so waited in the lobby for that to arrive. We got to Changi Airport about 2:30, checked our bags in and had a look around. I went in to the butterfly house and saw more butterflies there than at Sentosa Island. One landed on my shoulder & happily sat there for a while.

Next stop was to catch the sky train over to Terminal 2.

First stop there was the beautiful Orchid Garden – another amazing array of orchids.

We then walked down the other end of the terminal to see the Secret Garden.

This was another lovely display of tropical flowers. From here we went back to find the Sunflower Garden but stopped for Subway for dinner about 4:30pm. The sunflowers were beautiful & so many of them. Gardens of Marigolds were set out as a contrast.

We caught the sky train back to Terminal 3 and found that our flight had been rescheduled to leave an hour later at 1:10am. Thus began a very long waiting game sitting around the Terminal.
